Lisa Marie Presley’s ex Michael Lockwood accused her of using Scientology’s ‘fair game’ practice

Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband accused her of using Scientology against him in a bitter court two weeks before her death.

Michael Lockwood, 61, said Presley, with whom he shares twin daughters, was using “fair game” tactics to thwart his attempts to make her pay $40,000 a month in child support.

He said the Fair Game meant that ‘any enemy may be lied to, deceived, deceived, or destroyed by any means without discipline’ and Presley, who had renounced Scientology, was spreading it to him.

Lockwood wrote that he spent $1 million in legal fees fighting Presley and that he may have to declare bankruptcy due to the strain on his finances.

The recording gives fresh insight into the pressures Presley, 54, Elvis Presley’s only daughter, faced in her final weeks.

Presley passed away last Thursday after suffering a heart attack at the $4 million Calabasas home she shared with her first husband, Danny Keough. Her twins, 14, Harper Lockwood, and daughter Riley Keough, 33, refuse to go back because they are so traumatized by her death.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at Graceland, Elvis Presley’s estate in Memphis, Tennessee. She was buried in the grounds next to her son Benjamin – who committed suicide in 2020 – on Thursday.

Lockwood, a musician who was Presley’s fourth husband, lost his 2016 bid in their divorce to recant the prenuptial, but reopened the case in 2021.

In court papers, he demanded that she pay $40,000 a month in child support and claimed that she was hiding her assets.

The latest filing was added to the Los Angeles court docket on December 28 when Lockwood accused Presley of using “shell companies” to hide her assets.

He alleged that she had failed to turn over the underlying securities so that her actual wealth could be assessed by a forensic accountant he had hired.

Lockwood, who had custody of the twins, included a bill from his attorneys Yanni & Smith totaling $48,000 to show the cost of the fight with Presley.

‘I have had to change solicitors more than three times,’ he wrote, ‘and I still owe my former solicitors my bills which I do not know how I shall be able to pay and may have to discharge myself in bankruptcy.

With this history, she has incurred over $1 million in legal fees. I have racked up over $400-500K just fighting the frivolous, frivolous and false allegations against me both in the dependency court and before this court.

This is exactly what the petitioner attempted to do. You put me in debt, slandered me, tried to take my kids away from me, and now I’m finally making my name back and my relationships with my kids after so many years of alienation and “fair game” tactics.

Lisa Marie claimed in 2017 that she had discovered ‘disturbing and indecent images of children on Lockwood’s computer’.

I was shocked, terrified, and sick to my stomach. My understanding is that Tennessee law enforcement is also conducting an investigation regarding the photos and videos I discovered.

Lockwood was not charged.

Lockwood said Presley was raised in a “special belief system,” a thinly veiled reference to Scientology, which she joined at age 11 and left in 2014.

Presley turned against that belief and was set to be the star witness in the retrial of the rape case of 1970s star and Scientologist Danny Masterson.

Inevitably, Lockwood writes, it still held some of the tenets of this belief system, especially the practice of “fair game”, which involves targeting “enemies” through reputational damage and other immoral behaviour.

According to “fair game” practice, “the enemy may be lied to, deceived, deceived, or destroyed by any means without discipline.”

“I believe that is exactly what (Presley) did to me during our legal proceedings with the willing help of her current attorney.”

In an interview with Leah Remini, an actress and former Scientologist who has become one of the religion’s most outspoken critics, she said that “Fair Gaming” was implemented by the Office of Special Affairs.

She said that the office was “designed for anyone who tells the truth about Scientology” and that Fair Gaming “says that anyone who speaks out against Scientology should be Fair Gamed, and that means destroyed.”

This could be both physical and mental, Remini said, meaning “knowing what this person is out to protect and pursuing, you can cost them their reputation, their job, their family.”

Court documents filed in the case last November revealed that Presley was spending more than $92,000 a month before her death and owed $1 million to the IRS after squandering her father’s $100 million fortune.

Presley was bringing in over $100,000 a month from her father’s estate and business, but was spending over $92,000 a month.

Her monthly expenses include $23,500 in rent and $1,078 for a Maserati.

Documents show that Presley has $95,266 in cash assets, $714,775 in stocks and bonds, and that she owes $1 million to the IRS.

With her total net worth minus her debts, she is estimated to be worth $4 million.

Such was the precarious state of her financial situation that she was at one point $16 million in debt due to the disastrous business deals of her manager Barry Siegel. This included $10 million owed to the IRS.

Presley was married to actor Keough – Riley’s father – Michael Jackson, and Nicolas Cage before Lockwood.

Her father’s entire estate was left in his will when he died in 1977, at the age of 42, and she took over the management of the trust in 1993 when she turned 25.
